In an Igloo
OK....since I can't get the heads I want right away and I have been hanging on to the Cam and RR's since before christmas...I thought I would put in my RR's and port my upper while I'm there hopefully unleash a few ponies. While wouldn't you know it ****!!!! I snapped an Intake bolt. So I have tried everything to get it off and I'm widdling the piece thats stuck out of the lower manifold down. So does anyone have an Idea of what size the intake bolts are....I'm gonna try a tap and die set, so the size I need would be very helpful if anybody knows, or if anybody has any ideas on how to get the little ****er out!! :bang: I was even thinking of one of those screw/bolt extractors, but I don't know how well they work?? suggestions Ideas Help :(

How long of a piece is out?
"Easy-outs" work but you must drill a straight hole to begin with. Also any aluminum parts must be coated with anti sieze (well the bolts anyway) or this will happen more frequent. But first, take a propane torch and heat manifold in vicinity of bolt and grip bolt with a pair of Vise-grips and carefully attempt to twist out if it doesnt work it's "Easy-out" time.

yeah I tried this with the torrch and vice grips, also with a pipe wrench, it just won't catch the ****er is seized in there good. I have a tap and die set from work, plan on dremeling off the top part and rethreadinging it :(

what i did once to get a bolt out of a lawnmower(i know they are very different), i used a small bit and drilled two holes right next to each other. Then i stuck a flat head screwdriver into the center and twisted that way. i actually had to put a vice grip on the screw driver. I also hit it with a torch and heated it up. It eventually came out. I understand your anquish. I think the best way to do it is just drill it out and retap it. I didn't have a tap when i did the screw driver trick though.

Sounds like fun times.

Shut up!

As for the lawnmower...I ain't gonna drill any extra holes in my lower manifold thats for sure, I forgot I had to work the night shift last night and my car is in pieces :bang: I usually don't work nights it was an extra shift :bang: So after working till 7 am I got my RR's in this afternoon, but I'm worried I put too much trq on them so I'm going back to recheck tommorrow and then deal with this ****ing bolt thats seized in the lower manifold. I shouldn't be allowed near my car while I'm tired :nonono: I'm affraid the prelash is over .60 I was just tightening them down. :nonono:
