Broken header flange on stock shorties...

I was swappin out my exhaust system and as I was lining up my H pipe into place on the headers, the passenger side header flange thing broke loose from the welds. Looks like the welds were bad/weak. The driver's side has a nice bead of weld and this one looked like it was spot-welded like crap. I got the header off and was thinkin about takin it to my mechanic tomorrow and see if he can weld it back on. Would this get the job done? I have no money right now so you can leave out gettin new shorties. Would a weld job hold up? Or should I try to find a stock piece at the j/y? Please help cause I need the car back on the road.

you mean the flange that connects the header to the h-pipe? if so i don't see why it wouldn't work if it was welded properly

Thanks for the offer but Maryland is like a 4hr drive and can't really drive the car without an exhaust. So I can have it welded back on with now problem then? I'll take the header to the shop tomorrow hopefully if he's working.

Also, can I reuse the header gasket, or do I need to get a new one?

get a new one, the old one will most likely leak

i have perfectly good stock 91 headers that have about 61-62k miles on them
