I've searched the threads and found some info on this but still have some questions. Here's some background.

My speedometer just stopped working a few weeks ago. No weird movement of the needle or anything. Started the car, started to drive, no speedometer, period. I wasn't doing any work on the car at the time or prior to the malfunction.
Odometer works fine as does all other electronics in the car (with the exception of a slight engine feedback through my speakers). I also run a vehicle dynamic processor through my flat screen which shows some vehicle output (MPH, Tach, Lateral G's, etc) . The speedometer portion of that device works O.K. but has never been super accurate. I believe this device is attached into the speed sensor. This processor has been hooked up for several years prior to the speedometer failure. One last bit of info... I have aftermarket gauges in for a few years as well. They are autometer (Roush Style) gauges. They have about 20,000 miles on them since their install. I doubt they are bad.

Where would I start troubleshooting?

I had problems with my speedo. I have aftermarket guages as well. I made the problem go away by replacing the ground that goes from the motor mount to the frame. Its under the car on the driver side. Hope that fixes it.

Koa04, did replacing the ground also fix your problem? The Tach in my '98 stopped working (for the most part) about 3 years ago. It will randomly work "normally," but is generally pegged @ flatline. My gauges are OEM.
