Finally got her home, and pulled it apart.. bays getting welded up, frame rails boxed, core support replaced as well as the frame rail.. but its a factory 4spd GT car (stop making the 4 spd cars december 6 of 82) so its rare. Heres some pics.. as well as the donor car at the bottom.. probably going to keep the pace car spoiler and GT hood, but run the 85 bumpers/moldings.

never seen those wheels before.. i have the full set off the car.. there like 14x9s almost LOL

Donor car:

plan is mostly in the sig.. once rust and the bays painted and welded up, its getting 86 dash harness with the 89 GT mass air harness i have for it in the garage.. split 5's and 4 wheel disc will be on it as well. Gets a set of new lower control arms with prothane polys and steeda X2 ball joints.. new rack n pinion.. etc. KYB's until i can afford bilsteins.. and maxspeed springs (love the stance and ride) and BBK insulators.. it should turn out nice hopefully.. Enjoy

If you need to, put the t-top roof on the 83! What an awesome find, like you said, seriously rare 5.0. Yeah, those are Special Edition seats, and I had the 4-speed in an 83 Capri I found 3 years ago, had to push the shifter down to go to reverse. I was ready to use it, when research indicated how lousy they were. Before I even got a T5 for it, a guy offered me 3 times what I paid...needless to say, car went by-by. It was an original RS, t-top car, 4-speed,bright red, red side stripe car. Your GT is gonna be fun to watch, keep us posted!

it gets split 5s.. the 85 has rust on the strut tower, and the doors are gone.. alot of rust period. Yea the seats are special, they only made them one year with the nets in the headrest. I'm not a fan of T-tops.. meh lol

That T top car is not donor car material. Those are rare! You can't destroy a ttop. Sell it man or fix that one up. it would look alot cooler then the 83. Plus once you have t tops you'll always love them. I'll buy the donor car. I want a 85-86 gt ttop car.

unless someone can put a big foot behind there words and give me some good money for the donor car.. its going to be parted.. i dont like T-tops.. never have. True cobra rear end, 40k miles on a factory crate motor, new T5.. its a solid drivetrain, but un-solid body. I've had a bunch of t-top GT's.. not that hard to find.. but this is the first 83 i've seen in the tri-country area.. say what you want, but the solid and unstock drivetrain in a rusted back body doesnt do it for me. I just cant stand T-tops (driving with them anyway), but looks cool from the outside, If i did like them, i might have saved the car

What, you don't like rattles? You don't want rain leaking on you, especially around corners? Or coming out of the store and finding someone has swiped your glass panel roof? I'm with you, do the world a favor, destroy one more of a bad idea! T-tops for Trans Ams. You could maybe cut off the whole roof panel and sell it, if someone needs to have them that bad.

I'd have to have 2+ out of it.. simply because it would screw me up since i'd loose alllllll my swap parts, charleston/ravenel area.. and please dont turn this into a bid or auction, not what i meant to do with it
