The interior light switch is separate, light switch is at the front of the door opening and the belt retracter button is on the back of the door opening and faces out, also bigger

I got my gears put back together. Now the drive shaft won’t fit back in the car..... what in the hell. The splines on the yoke look ok I cleaned them out and still nothing . Wondering if the splines on the output shaft are twisted? Bushing on the rear control arms loose? It need about a 1/4” more to get the pinion nut into the center of the drive shaft piece that bolts to the rear pinion. Never had this problem before . Ever . I’ve change these gears twice before and never had this problem .

Another thought. Would these threads be longer than any other 8.8 pinion gear? They kind of look longer like I have a lot of threads showing compared to usual.
Not sure what they came out of I got them off eBay from a ford scrap yard

Did you install a new crush washer ? That thing has to collapse about 1/4 inch.

Yeah it’s crushed. I thought about that but if it did collapse it would actually help me out the threads would be less sticking out . The gears seem to be set up right it’s just odd the drive shaft is being a pain now

I think it has to be the splines are twisted in the yoke looks like they are just barely off the last 3/4” of an inch down

I see exactly what you're talking about. Seems odd though. You'd have to be hooking pretty hard to twist those spines.
