I'm rebuilding my 5.0 and looking to spend around $1000 tops. What's the best route to go? I have to bore the block so new pistons with a higher compression ratio are a distinct possibility, but will re-use the stock crank/rods. What's the best way to go in this rebuild to get the power up beyond the stock rating of 225hp? I've been thinking about doing some portwork on my stock e7's but haven't had a lot of time lately due to work. Any suggestions are welcome, just remember I have a ~$1000 budget. Thanks
