building 5.0 need advise!

im building a 5.0 FI H/O i have Racing Flat Top Pistons Stock H/O Heads And A F303 Camshaft with stock rockers with Gt40 intake now someones been telling me i cant use a f303 cam with the flat tops as it will cause engine damage is this true and if so does anyone know why? ive run flat tops in other applications (chevy,dodge) with even bigger cams with stock heads is there something different about the 302 that i dont know or is this not true and will work fine thanksalot

I dont know. maybe too much lift causing piston to valve clearance issues. may have to fly cut pistons. put some clay in there and measure it.

You shouldn't have a problem using that cam if you have an 87-95 block with 87-95 pistons because the pistons are cut for the use of larger cams with up to 512 lift.
