Ok, so I finally started getting parts for the '86 030 block I have and this is what I've got so far:

1. Speed Pro hyperutectic pistons, flat top, 4 valve reliefs.
2. Trick Flow Stage 1 cam
3. Trick Flow hydraulic roller lifters
4. Weiand Stealth dual plane intake

I have all the other little things like bearings, freeze plugs, long tube headers, gaskets, etc. The things I don't have are heads, rockers, push rods, and a dizzy.

Basically what I'm looking for is a little advice (and maybe someone with a good pair of heads or other parts they wanna sell) on what other parts I should chase next.

Since you are going carb, I would just run a stock 85 Mustang dizzy. Still has the right cam gear for roller cam yet has the vacuum advance for the carb.

I looked into that but am having a hell of a time finding one locally. I was thinking about putting an MSD dizzy in it but damn the price.

On another note, I scored a pair of decent GT40 heads today for cheap. They'll do until the wife let's me buy some AFR's or Trick Flow heads.

Parts stores will usually carry them. Might have to have them order it but at least its still brand new and probably less than half that of the msd.

Just called my machine shop, $140 to rebuild the heads and do a mild port job. Not bad.

OReilly has them at the local warehouse, $75 new on my account. They carry 2 variations: steel gear and cast iron gear. I want the steel gear correct?

Man I sound like I've never done this before and it's definitely not my first rodeo lol
