What are the best rods and pistons to go with for my car???
I have an 02 saleen....I am getting the KB 1.7 kit and want to make the car safer by putting better rods and pistons....
Need help on deciding what to get... any help would be appreciated...

Go with a good H-beam rod from scat or eagle and as far pistons just find a good forged piston. Probe may offer a whole kit for just what you need. You will need to know what compression ratio you want to go with and how much boost you plan on running.

Compression should be around 8.2-9.2 depending on the boost level you are seaking, higher boost, lower the compression.

i think it would be easiest just to get a shortblock from VT Engines and bolt your heads on and drop it in? jmo

Head work lad

An engine is just a giant air pump, Spend your money...after the needed items, on head work. Air in...air out = HP. Take it from an old ....guy.
