well, i just got my bullett calipers, pads, 13" cobra rotors, and SS brakes lines on, bled and working.... but new question. what kinda difference am i supposed to notice? the pedal is a lot firmer, but would this be because of the new fluid, and lines? is there a break in time that needs to be met before they hit full performance? also, when i was taking my test drive to make sure i didnt screw up i noticed some smoke comming of the brakes after the drive (all light braking just to make sure it stops). and i know you are not supposed to rip on new pads till they have gotten some light wear because of something like glazing or whatnot?

so, bottom line... how much better are they, and does anyone know how long before i can drive normal (which is pretty hard)?

Bob's right, the biggest difference you will notice is less brake fade over an extended period of driving. its normal that the pedal is firmer, thats from the bled brakes and SS lines. the SS lines dont flex and bulge like the stock rubber hoses.
as far as break in time, i gave mine 500 miles of easy driving (which was very very difficult). better safe than sorry. mine actually vibrated and shook the car when i first did mine. it was just the pads seating onto the rotors. the smoking is normal. its just the outer coating of the rotor burning off.
congrats on the new brakes, i love mine! if you really wanna be able to tell a huge difference, buy some stickier tires. they'll really make those brakes shine.

The first week after my upgrade I wasn't impressed, the brakes felt worse but now they grab WAY better.

Agreed...mine didn't feel THAT much better. During their first run on a road course I immediately noticed a difference. When there's constant gas-brake switching they seemed a lot grippier. No fade and when you really bear down on them they clamp down like a mo-fo. :nice:

You'll notice the different the next time you are on a highway doing 65MPH and have to perform a panic stop.

The smoke might be fluids or suck coated on the rotors to prevent rust. Should stop soon but pay attention to if it doesn't.

Brakes should fully seat in about a week or so. Just try not to overheat them now. There are write-ups on bedding the rotors properly if you do a search. Basically it's just repeated stops from hgh speed to heat them up followed by 10-minute highway crusiing to cool them off.
