Bullitt Pedals

Well they came in today and luck has it that I had to work tonight so I jumped right on them. HOLY CRAP! I knew how to do the clutch and brake ones so I started them first. This thing is nearly impossible. I did the hair spray thing. Then I pushed it to the floor and twisted with my foot. Well it worked fine for the clutch but when I did it for the brake pedal, it messed up one of the little rubber things...I was pissed. I finally got it on and then had to go to work.I wish I would have read the thing about the blow dryer. That would have made life OH so much easier. They look sweet, but I have to finish them up tommorrow. By the way, got them from www.buyfordracing.com. Nothing but the best to say for them. Lowest price on them (59 bucks for the 4 pedal set) and only 6 bucks to ship them. They sent me emails with the ups invoice and all. Great place, will order from them again. But if anyone has any tips on the accelerator pedal and the dead pedal, lemme in on them please. Ive been bitten...too bad for the warranty I still have to wait on....only 10 more months.

Ya, the gas pedal is a beotch....just get a bolt and locking nut instead of trying to force that damn pin back in.

Don't know why I didn't think of that, paid $90 a year or two ago.
Oh, I got the one with the whole gas assembly though, so I didn't have to deal with that pin.

the hardest part with mine was the clutch and the brake pedal. I boiled mine and it mad it a lot easier. the gas pedal was the easiest thing, but I also had the one that bolts in.

Oh, the dead pedal was the easiest one. I don't remember if there were any bolts but I know there were some plastic push pins. It took about 5 minutes to swap that out... Just look and see how it's connected, it's pretty easy. If I go back to school tomorrow I'll take pics of it.

I had to heat them up with the blow dryer to the point of burning my hands when i put them on. but they look sweet so it was worth it. I bought my pedals right from the ford dealer. A good freind of mine is the hed of the parts department so i got a good deal.

Someone who has done this please chime in and tell me how you got the friggin throttle linkage off the assembly. Im really at a loss right now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and also how did you get the damn pin out of it. I need to vent sorry.

You don't have to take the throttle linkage off, but if you want, pop the hood and take the cable off the throttle body. It'll make a little slack that way.

To get the pin out, get an adjustable wrench (the ones where you can open the size of the "mouth"), and squeeze it to push the pin out. After that, get a nut and bolt from a hardware store, and also some lock washers.

Open your hood, take the throttle cable off the throttle body or whatever it's called.
Now there should be -plenty- of slack to work on the gas pedal.

I didn't deal with the pin so I have no advice, good luck.

Update: Well I got all the stuff out and got the new pedal on. LOL the super glue for the plastic peice I FREAKING BROKE is drying. I got so fed up with it I had to come inside and watch finding nemo. Man that helped a lot. I went back out fixed everything and now im just waiting on stuff to dry. The piece I broke wasnt anything major so im happy bout that. Hopefully it will stay put. Thanks everyone for the help, I forgot about the nut and bolt thing so that damn pin is back in there. No worries though, I dont plan on putting ANY other pedals in this thing. Maybe its just me but this wasnt the "easy" install that its played out to be...well it is probably just me. Well I think im going off to get a K&N later today. We'll see. Thanks again everyone.

yeah, the brake and clutch pedals were a PITA for me... Took us forever, we did it in the school parking lot so no boiling water, no hair dryer, no soap, no tricks. Just brute force and like an hour.

...bad news...I have to buy a new accelerator pedal...My dad got home and I showed him the broken thing(super glue didnt work) and we both mutally agreed that I need to cough up the 17 bucks for a new one. So now I have a nice paperweight....Oh and he also did a trick with the pin that popped it out in about oh 3 seconds. We have a drill press, he put a bolt in it, pulled it down on the pin and it fell right in. He did in 3 seconds what I spent 2 hours and wasted 17 dollars on....I was pissed. But the stock one is back on and the pin is now replaced with a bolt and a locking nut. I guess Ill get a new pedal beginning of next week. Oh well, lesson learned I guess. Thanks for all ya'lls help.
