wow, what luck.
i got a set of 17x10.5's and 17x9's (gunmetal cobra r's) sitting in my living room waiting for rubber, going with the good year f1's. i didn't like the reviews on the sumitomo's 50% good/ 50% bad and wanted a better rain tire than the nitto's.
any of you guys running these sizes have any issues with rubbing? did you have to remove the quad shocks at all for the 10.5's.

thanks

No rubbing here. Some guys reverse the quad shocks to get more room. You might have to since Goodyears run big.

Without. It has to be. I doubt 15x10 Weld draglites weigh 14lbs with a tire.

I'm sure. There are too many variables if they were all with tires. Such as size, type, manufacture. I got the info from someone on another forum. They were looking for a good light weight wheel for road racing and decided to share their data with everyone else.

UPS dropped off the 17x9 Bullitt wheels I ordered yesterday. According to UPS, the shipping label says each box weighs 20 #'s. I don't think that their scales are off either considering that they charge by weight.

Call me crazy, but I don't think that that list is very accurate.

Hmm. When I got my 17x10.5 Bullitts the receipt said both wheels had a combined weight of 100lbs.

Unless some of those wheels on the list are with tires after all.

Sounds like to me.

Cali, I got a ? for you. Are those your factory center caps on your 10.5's ? I'd like to get a pair for my 17x9's if they'll fit.

I hate the ones that came with the wheels I got from Mustang tuning. Wheels look awesome , but the center caps look cheesy IMO.

I don't know what center caps American Tire used because they just threw them in for free. However, the stock center caps will fit all replica wheels except AFS wheels. AFS wheels use a larger than stock center cap measureing over 2 1/2 inches in diameter compared to stock which measure something like 2 7/16 inches. You can get stock style caps from Ford or 50resto.com.

Thanks for the link.

I'm going to call the dealer in the a.m. and see how much I can get them from Ford for. I get an employee discount so maybe I can get them cheaper and not have to pay shipping.

Not necessarily true...I just received my AFS Deep Dish black wheels yesterday and my stock center caps fit fine. They are not quite flush with the outside top edge of the hole, they sit maybe 1/8" inch down (if that makes sense). But diameter wise, they fit perfectly.

Also, took some quick wheel weights using my cheap bathroom scale. RESULTS:

stock 17x8, 245/45's= 45 lbs. (Premium 5 star)
AFS 17x9, 275/40= 50 lbs.
AFS 17x10.5, 315/35= 52 lbs.

Sweet. If the stock caps fits the AFS then thats good. I also found out that those weights in the list are from modulardepot. We should make our own list. And only a 24lbs increase over the stock wheel and tire is okay. The added weight would the like if you had someone in the back seat.
