burning up my clutch?

when i rev high and let the clutch out pretty fast to spin the wheels a little, i smell a very noticeable burnt-rubber like smell that seems to be coming from the the clutch/transmission area. i can smell it through the e-brake opening. the slower i let the clutch out, the stronger the smell seems to be.

i almost never launch hard now because i am afraid it is doing something very bad to the car.

Is his cable not tight enough? Can anyone explain the proper way to adjust a clutch when you have a firewall adjuster and quadrant?

as far as adjusting your clutch via your firewal clutch/cable quadrant it is just a matter of preference as far as i am concerned. i have steeda's old one so it doesnt have a stopper like their new ones do. every once and a while i have to go tighten it up to where i like it. when i get the time i am going to find a way to make my own stopper to keep it from periodically letting off slack.

So turning the firewall adjuster clockwise loosens the cable letting the pedal up higher and turning it counterclock wise tightens the cable making the pedal lower?
