I am planning on buying an 05 stang with manual tranny. I heard from some magazines that the stock computer limits burnouts and takeoffs. Not t/c but a limiter in the computer. If so can burnouts be done and does a SCT or predator remove this. I want to smoke the tires!

You can smoke them in the stock form. Turn TCS off, rev her up, and spin.

they only spin a little. if they get going good, then the computer kills the throttle, ending your burnout.....even eith the tcs off.

no way... you can roast them pretty good. When I get new tires (not soon), I'll make a good vid.

I tried it out last weekend.

The only problem that I had was the surprisingly good grip from the stock tires. I was able to keep the wheels spinning until the forward momentum and tire grip caught up with me. All the while I could modulate the throttle right at redline. I felt no indication of any torgue management.

Like most cars with good traction out of the hole you will need a line-lock to get really great, extended burnouts unless you are willing to toast your rear breaks and clutch.
