burnt clutch cables

I have a set of flowtech longtubes on my 89 hatch. I am replacing my third clutch cable. Any help.....do they differ from auto to 5 spd????? The last 2 cables i used a heat wrap and it still didnt fix it.

If you have had this problem tell me what you did to fix it. Or how you routed the cable, because whatever i'm doing isnt working.

You might want to use a longer cable so you can route it away from the headers better. See the clutch cable and linkage article by Jeremy Thompson in the Useful Tech sticky for proper routing and preferences.

I think the SN95 cables are longer... They may allow you to have more routing options.

MM universal cable. it owns.

i have it routed between the block and all the header tubes now.. Any other way is impossible as far as i know of...

does flowtech have two different styles of headers...one for auto and one for manual???
