My driver side door latch is busted (I have to push on the door to open it). I'm assuming I need to just replace the door latch but sofar that seems easier said than done.

I can almost remove the latch except I can't get the power door lock actuator to let go of it. It looks like the PDL actuator can be pushed down to get it out but I couldn't budge it.:fuss:

I might just be weak but does anybody know of any tricks to get this latch mechanism out?

The way I remove the lock actuators is I usually get a long screwdriver and gently pry between the base of the actuator and the bracket. There are two pins on rubber isolators that snap into the bracket. But be careful, the plastic bracket does sometimes break. But usually you can pop the actuator out and wiggle and twist it out of the latch. Putting it back in is a bit hard. I have inserted it in one side and again used the screwdriver to open the bracket while inserting the pin into the rubber isolator. Good luck!

I tried that method. It seemed like too much work. I just drilled the rivet out and took out the whole assembly. The new actuator comes with the bracket on it. All you have to do is rivet the new actuator. You have to use the same rivets that you use for the door handles.
