Buy now or wait?

So I've been browsing through the inventory of my local dealerships, and it looks like Ford isn't in that big of a hole. Or did they get the bailout money already?
Because the Mustang GTs are in the 31k+ range. For the price of those I might as well get a Bullitt. This is sad because in 04, my premium coupe with all the options minus the Mach 1000 and an auto trans was all of 26k.
One GT out of the three dealerships I checked is 25k and its driver's side window is out of alignment. Is this a common problem?
I thought they'd still have some leftover 08s but I guess I missed that boat.
So should I wait until this summer when the '10s come out?
I did find a 07 with 87xx miles for 25. And I wondered why anyone would sell their car so soon..(lemon?)

I also have thought the price on a loaded GT was steep but its really about supply and demand. as for the used ones I think some ppl wont find them as comfy or somethin an trade up too. an be some good deals used.

How many miles are on your 04 and why do you want to sell it?


If you want to buy a Ford, you buy one used. I picked up my 04GT last Jan for 13200 off of a dealer lot, clean car fax, never had any touch up work, never saw winter, and had 34K on the clock. GT auto, w/original tires that were half worn as they should have been.

When I upgrade to the 197 version in another four years, I will opt for an 08's as they are the ones to supposedly go after with the upgraded plugs, and by then, I should be able to get it for half of what it stickered for.

I agree with buying slightly used. If you absolutely do not want to buy used you may want to check autotrader or ebay for brand new cars on dealer lots. I know for a fact a new GT can be had for ~$26k. I got mine brand new in '06 (When they were still selling one every thirty seconds. Litterally.) for $26.5k w/ Shaker 1000. All the goodies except navigation.

But if I had to do it all over again I'd look for one with about 2 or 3 thousand miles on it. They can be had for under $20k sometimes. Either way, you will be saving money over your local stealerships even if you have to have it shipped.

Well my 04 is gone because it's totaled.

I will try the autotrader thing, as another member suggested.

Nope, my 07 GT had the crappy plugs, but I've already replaced them.
