I posted wrong -it's not a GT, 96 mustang coupe 147,000 miles, V6. It's for my daughter so I'm not looking for speed performance, just for the looks of the car. Will be used daily as she attends college. What is your opinion on buying this for $3,800. Pristine shape. Thank you again.

If the car and the engine in particular are in "pristine" condition, the car has probably gotten regular maintenance, so high mileage shouldn't be a problem. Does the seller have any records for routine service? Neglect is the biggest killer of cars, not mileage.

You might want to beat him up on the price. I got my 96 V6 Coupe with 99k miles for $3k. Interior and exterior in excellent shape. JMO.
