in my quest for viable product feedback SPEC has always come up positive. at least on stangnet it has. i got a friend runnin a Mcleod with about 380-400 RWHP and he digs it. but then again i may not know what im talking about.
yeah mcleod is a way good company when it comes to good clutches and flywheels. I got a mcleod clutch and it's, I guess a knee buster but it doesnt' affect my quick shifting, it just makes me feel macho... but mcleod is a very good company to get for 400 horse cars or upwards of, I got the 400 horse one, I guess it's the stage three sprung hub one, I didn't want to do a burnout evry time I got a start, like the racecar guys coming out of the pits...
anyways mcleod is a good company, better than centerforce, if you're getting centerforce, get king cobra instead, they take more abuse and horsepower....
i have seen every clutch badmouthed by someone at some point, but not spec. that will be the route i go when the time comes. if interested, talk to Perky.

You can't beat a SPEC clutch for the money. I've been running the same Stage III in my car for three years now. Probably has over 200 1/4 mile passes (w/ ET Streets) plus street driving on it. I put it back in this winter after rebuilding the engine, etc. The thing still has disc material left. For alot of street driving you may want a Stage II. The Stage III is streetable but when they get hot they're either on or off. No slippage. Talk to Perky, he'll set you up.
i have the ford racing clutch disc, it is supposed to hold 40% more power than the stock clutch. i don't know if it is any good, i have yet to drive it
I would go for the spec stageII also. I had one with the 302 wich made 303rwhp. I never had any problems with it, put 5500 miles on and looked new when I pulled the motor. They claim it will hold around 475rwhp. Mine was very streetable too. I only went with the stageIII because of the 418's power #'s.

ive got a dual friction in mine and i hate it...well i dont hate it...but it just seems to me that if i drive for a while in stop and go traffic it tends to want to either grab right way or grab really slowly. i guess what im trying to say is that its not a very constant clutch. im definetly going with a spec clutch when i get a new one.
I've had a handful of clutches, Forget the motorsport kit, the clutch is too hard to depress and over time it kills the cable, and starts to pull on the firewall.
I use a motorsport disc, with a centerforce pressure plate, Dwayne from outrageous mustangs turned me on to this combo, a long time ago, and i probably couldn't drive the car any other way. It takes minimal effort to depress the clutch, and it will not wear your leg out in traffic.
