Should i get the 1 Inch spacer, he said that way i can take off my vavle covers with out taking the upper off.

Will i loose performance by doing this?

O and i think i need lifters don't know what kind please help me out.

I'd go for a 1" spacer if you've got room. It'll keep the upper intake cooler. I ran a 3/8" on my cobra setup and I could kill the car for hours and immediately open the hood and lay my hand on the intake and it would be slightly warm.

I'd say do it yourself. If the engine is assembled and you've got all the old stuff out, you should be able to start it after breakfast and have it running by supper time :nice: ...all depends on how many extra trips you have to make to pick up the little things nobody ever remembers 'til they need :D

I know this will be a 4day operation just because of all the little things ill need that i dont know yet.

Like how abo puting the cam in? never done it before so what lube do i need to slide it in?

Any engine assembly lubricant will work. I've used TRW in the past and never had any issues. I've got a bottle of Clevite77 on the go now, and it seems to work well, too. I'd also recommend a tube of ARP moly lubricant for all your engine fasteners that don't require sealant. ARP also makes a thread lubricant/sealant which works well on the lower head bolts.

Are you getting a short block? or do you have to assemble everything?
