Buying Mustang Parts Online: International Customers

Hello fellow mustang fanatics all the way from New Zealand,
I am wanting feedback from fans outside of the USA who have purchased parts online and had them shipped international.
Which online parts suppliers have you used and would you recommend them?
Did they charge extra to process orders and how reasonable was the shipping.

Over the next few months I will be looking for interior parts, dash parts and maybe a upholstery kit for my 1970 Fastback.
Would like an upgraded instrument cluster also if the exchange rate get better.

I'd recomment CJ Pony Parts, Mustang Unlimited, MustangPlus, Mac's Antique Auto Parts. They all send abroad and I used them for buying many parts. Other vendors also ship abroad but I need my orders to be shipped via USPS only due to Russian customs laws and these companies do. They don't charge anything extra for processing international orders. Shipping cost depends greatly on what parts you are buying, if the parts are heavy or bulky then it can be costly. But for me there isn't any other option so I get everything from the US.

Over the big pond i ordered from:

Summit Racing (Extra Charge for international order - dont know how much it was) but lotsa parts
CJ Pony Parts - worked good, fast shipping
Rockauto.com - worked good, but be aware to get all parts from the same warehouse location - shipping will get expensive when not... fast shipping

Mustang Unlimited - worked good, fast shipping
Jegs - my absolute favorite, even their programm is more GM orientated - mostly i find all parts that i need there! Shipping costs are fair and its very fast!

Thanks alot for the info I am currently stationed in Germany and have been wondering who all shipped overseas. It's a pain to find time to call places in the states cause of the time difference and I have issues with 1-800 numbers on my Vodaphone cell phone.

All the above stores ship only priority or express mail that start at some 40 euros + 99% being held by customs (+1 week).
I think there is no mustang store that ships air mail 10-15 eur for a small package that passes customs with no delay.
Even this web site is poor source (6 classifieds?)

this is not true, I also ship FedEx International and a couple of other ones if I remember right.

So now you know how hard and expensive it is to get good parts from the US to us "Outsiders".

But i can happily confirm the FedEx Shipping from CJ Pony Parts, as i mentioned in one of my posts above it was very fast and parts were very good! (Thanks, CJ Pony Parts)

CJ Pony... sorry but I do not consider FEDEX, UPS or DHL (?) as a meaningful shipping options because of their overseas rates, which are always higher than USPS Priority mail. All priority mail + courier parcels are held by customs, at least in the EU.
CJ Pony, as most of mustang stores have quality parts, yet there is no store I heard of that would ship you e.g. $3 radiator cap in $5-10 USPS air mail parcel. They would offer you $40 shipping.

The shipper at Glazier/Nolan ships by whichever means is least expensive for the export customer.

Well I hate to step on toes but we rate shop every option for you so you can pick what is cheaper. We have 1000's of international customers and I will tell you one thing, they aren't calling up to order a $3 radiator cap, they are calling to place big orders to save time and money.

We give the best rates that are available for all shipping options we can offer but you're not going to find anything that we can ship out of catalog for $5-10 internationally.

Shipping a Radiator Cap for a Scott Drake Radiator Cap ($16.45, no $3 caps here I looked lol) from here to Sydney Australia, (furthest place I could think of) breaks down like this.

My Cheapest shipping option is Priority Mail International for $32.29

USPS sites gives me these quotes:
USPS Express Flat Rate Box is $74.95
USPS Express Flat Rate Envelope is $38.00

So we are doing pretty good if you ask me, we do our best to offer you the best rates.

Priority mail is not the cheapest option to ship rad cap to Australia! Why you are saying that it is?
Yes people make large orders to save on shipping.

Yes people make large orders to save on shipping.

We have shipped at the cheaper rate that you are looking at and we have found in the past that this is not the best way to ship and the customers have not been pleased with this shipping method, as this method is...

1. Not guaranteed.
2. Offers no tracking service.
3. Can take up to 4-6 weeks maybe even longer to arrive to the customer.

So we do offer the lowest rates if you want...

1. Guaranteed Service
2. Full tracking from the time it leaves our building
3. Faster to door delivery.

If you feel you don't need the above feel free to contact us and let us know you want to got the cheaper route as we will certainly get you a price quote for it. I'd say that makes us pretty willing, and it's not we are not willing we just prefer to give you a better service to get your parts to you. Just remember this, just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's the best route.
