I have a 351w and need a thermostat bypass hose. My local auto parts store have the guys that were recently flipping burgers, and can't find anything in the system but a 3/4" bypass, and it took four people to find that. Both my wp and thermostat housing are 5/8". Anyone know what year a 351 might have had the smaller hose? Or have any suggestions?

If my parts-monkey-ness is correct, at least the kelly-springfield, autozone part number should be s-3009. It is 5/8 with a 90 and comes longer than needed for 302s... should be perfect for the 351. Just a guess, try the bypass for the 302 and see how long it is and it might fit.?

When I bought mine, I asked for a 68, 302 hose and there were two diameter sizes, both were longer than I needed. I bought both then returned the one that didn't fit well.
