c-4 kickdown

I have a 66 with a 289 and a c-4. I never noticed until the other day that the kickdown is not installed. From what I've read, my accelerator pedal is supposed to have a bracket in the engine bay that links the throttle to the trans, but that bracket isn't there. I have a holley 390 4v carb. Will the Lokar kickdown cable work with my setup? Thanks in advance.

Man I never hooked my kickdown up....

But I hooked the vacuum hose the the hole below the carberator in the intake (think they call it port vacuum maybe?) and it kicks down all by itself. If I floor it passing gear kicks in if thats what your trying to get working.

my cable attaches to the bottom arm on the petal pivot assembly.

This is the cable:

The right side clips to the pedal assembly. same type of clip that is used on the door lock rods.

I just installed the lokar kickdown cable, it really wakes up the car. Not so good on gas milage, lol. The only difficult part was the installation of a bracket to the rear side of the transmission. I ended up taking it to a shop & had the mechanic tighten the bolt. Cost 20.00, well worth it. It took him 5 min. Problem is access. Other than that the install was easy. I have installed the lokar throttle cable & pedals, all works great & looks good. 65 289 coupe.
