I have read a bunch of posts and it seems that c&ls get less and less acurate on bigger injectors ( i have 36's, so thats bad). Also, they need a straight shot of pipe before them it seems, ( i have an elbow attached to my maf, again bad), and that their not good on s/c cars(mines s/c, again BAD). Can anyone clarify any of these rumors? i would really like to escape paying a few hundred bucks for a pro-m, as I am out of money. Anyone out there running 36's or bigger on their c&l?

Have you tried clocking the maf?

would i want to turn it so that it is in the part with the least turbulent air, or the part with the fastest velocity.

My intake has a fenderwell mounted filter, then a 90 to the maf. Im assuming that turning it so that its on the inside of the elbow (sample tube closest to passenger fender well) that it would be the least turbulent. Ill have to read up on air flow charactoristics in pipes... Ill see what i can find. Anyone know of any sweet spots to put the maf at?
