C&L or Pro-M???

Just curious I need a new air intake system since the majority of my was busted in a wreck so I might as well do it now since were about to get the car fixed.

Should I get a C&L kit with the inlet pipe, MAF, and the filter kit or a BBK CAI with a Pro-M MAF???

I'd just like to see what your inputs would be and your experiences with each?

My opinion, I like the C&L more than the BBK. It looks cleaner, and it comes in a kit.

The power gains you see from the install will depend on the other mods you have on the car.

cold air is a cold air is a cold air.....

now the MAF is important. i don't like c&l. heard too many stories of them not agreeing with our cars. some have had success, others haven't. too much chance for me to place my faith in them. i was one of the lucky ones when i had mine, but have since switched to an 80mm pro-m and won't go back. if i ever do get another one it would probably be an abaco

C&L isn't that great, i wouldn't go there, pro-m is the way to go.

With the C&L meter it just restricts airflow to the sensor and commonly has problems when tuning the car.

The Pro-m is a new sensor calibrated for the car and comes with a flow sheet, hang onto this sheet in case you want to tune in the future.

As for the CAI any ol' CAI will do. I got the BBK awhile back and was very satisfied with it.

I was leaning more toward the pro-m and a bbk CAI or jus any ole CAI but C&L looks so clean.

Another thing does it matter wat mm TB I use? whats is the stock TB size? and I am planning on adding some bolt ons in the future; like pulleys, fuel pressure regulator, the portin the intake. are these things to consider with a TB size?

Two things to consider here

1) The CAI

2) The meter

As for #1 ........

More bends offer more restriction

Ambient temps effect it very little at WOT so it being made of metal of plastic
does not make much difference

Drawing in cool air from outside the hot engine compartment is the main
thing to look for with your intake piping system

If the outside temp is high ... You most likely won't notice a power gain

2) Without knowing your mods ... I can't reply with much intellengence

but ... If you are stock or close to stock ... A meter is not gonna help you

If talking ProM ... a 19# caled meter is like a screen door on a submarine
and
If you do more mods later which require larger inj's ..........

You would have to have it recaled

I'd suggest you create a sig with all your mods listed
then
All the members can answer your Q's more effectively
and
You will get more response when you post up Q's

OK so I guess ill jus buy a CAI then worry about the MAF and TB later after other mods.

and a regular CAI only has one bend and a C&L has 2 if im not mistaken.

I've always had good luck with Pro-M, but I thought they went out of business or got bought out or something.

Pro-M is decent dependent upon the application, I agree that the good/best choices are better but they also require a tune which is even more $$$

well ive got the c&l maf and flow tube and my car it mostly stock but when i put it on i noticed a little gain. plus it looks good so i say c&l unless you are going bigger inj's a c&l is not a good idea.

They went out of business and a couple of the employees branched off and started PMAS...Professional Mass Air Systems.....which is basically the same product.

Thanks for the update. I was out of the loop, and didn't know what happened to them. I've always liked Pro-M, so now I know where to go if I need another MAF.

Ya, same here. The car has been off the road for a good 5 years and I just got mine up and running again. Not running well, but running...should be fun when I can get it tuned.
