hey guys i have a t5 tranny laying aroung from my 88 gt i wreked and i was thinking of a c4 to t5 swap even though my c4 is freshly rebuilt. anyways i checked the id tag and it turns out my t5 is:
1352-199

91-91 mustang t5 rated at 300 lb/ft
1st 3.35
2nd 1.99
3rd 1.33
4th 1.00
5th 0.68
R 3.15
speed drive gear= 8
input shaft lenght= 7.18
input shaft pilot dia.= .668

is this a good tranny for my car. its a 67 coupe with a 351w. will my headers fit, i have long tube headman headers. my diff. is a 8 inch. would 4.11 gears out back be to much. anything would help. i plan on buying the crossmember, cbable clutch conversion and clutch pedal from modern driveline.

That trans is your best option unless you go aftermarket. Since you already have it, there's no reason not to use it and it should be plenty strong on the street. I've done the swap and got a lot of info here:

The T5 is a LOT smaller then a C4 so fit wont be an issue. The only problem you will run into is clearance for the cable clutch with the headers.

Do yourself a big favor...sell the C4 and do the swap imediatly

Having recently done the swap, it is THE best mod I have ever done to the car drive wise. If you already have it lying there, then your half way there!

I made the swap about 3 years ago. Bar none, it was the best thing I have ever done to my stang. I had no problems with my long tube headers from the 302. My drive shaft fit better on the t-5 than it did from the 3 speed. Make the swap, and if you don't mind bangn gears, you will not regret it...
