I have a '93 notchback 5 speed now, and i came across a good deal on a '92 hatch w/ a c4 w/ a 3500 stall kit

I dont know much about auto, what is the advantage of having a c4????, can i shift throught the gears or something or does it just not have od...and what is a 3500 stall kit??

also how hard would it be to put a a/c back in it in summer, currently theres no a/c or ps.....

what is a 3500 stall?? ive read on here that the car wont go until i reach 3500rpm.....is that good for a daily driver?????? i dont really get a stall kit...so lets say im stop at a light, and the light turns green, i press on the gas but my car wont go until i reach 3500 rpm?? so i dont get that the tach only goes 5500??? and lets say im going about 30 and theres traffic, what if my rpms fall below 3500 what happens?? my car wont go unless i get 3500rpms??? i just need some clearification!!! can someone clear this up for me???? thanks!!!

also can i use a shift kit w/ a stall kit?? and i dont get the purpose of a shift kit, I can downshift w/ a normal aod as well so what advantage does a shift kit provide???? i have a '88 aod 2 years back and I can put it in lowest gear go about 4000 slam it up and pull back down and it was in 2nd then to 3rd and if needed o/d.......so why have a shift kit, does it really let me go 1, 2, 3, 4 like a tip tronic acura or whatever its called???? im lost someone please help or show me a post to read, cuz ive tried the search and i cant really find anything!!!!

im not an auto guy but ill toss out what i think i know. stall is the speed (in rpms) that the torque convertor locks up at. so below 3500 the TC would slip. once at 3.5K and above it does not slip (not as much parasitic drivetrain loss).

shift kit has to do with adjusting how and where the trans shifts. many autos have gear engagement overlap at the shifts which wears stuff out quicker. the kits firms up the shifts, remove some of this overlap and often move the shift points up a little higher in the rev band.

a manual valvebody will allow one to shift the thing like a stick.
