I borrowed a buddy's 98 C5 auto for a few days when my car was down and thought the car was rather boring and slow. Honestly, I wouldn't trade my car for one (stock or lightly modded) and I'd take a terminator over a C5 z06. C6 z06 is a different story, though..

A C6 > 03-04 cobras IMO. I'm trying to get one as we speek. Insurance Auctions FTW!! My best friend just got a modded 02 C5 6spd convertible so I couldn't let him have all the fun. He use to have a modded 95 z28 auto that would get beat by my 98 gt. The 98 Gt now is getting left behind. But it is for sell. Pm if anyone interested. The C5 interior is kinda crappy and the ls1 seems like crap compared to the LS2 & LS3. I know I'm being a traitor but my girlfriend still has her 2003 MACH 1. So I still have a Mustang to play with, a good one too.

I have driven both a C5 & a C6 (both autos). My Mach felt faster than the C5, but the ride quality was great IMO...I didnt really get to get on it in the C6, so i cant tell u much about the power, but once again the ride quality was great. But of course a 50k car with IRS is gonna ride much smoother than a solid axle, fox based mustang.... Ill take my Stang over any vette other than a C6z....

lol 11s in the 1/8th mile??? he must have started from an 1/8th mile back from the starting line or was in reverse. C5s run anywhere from low low 13s at somewhere around 106 to 108mph to high 12s in the 1/4. The early 90s was the c4. And those were capable of high 13s too.

I'm hoping to be able to buy a C5 Z06 in the next few years. I love the C5 vette I thought it was a really cool car, although the C6 is MUCH better (obviously).

c4 would be what im refering to then.. Hood was up on one and it was the lt-1.. slow very slow.. Might give my gt a good run but i doubt it! Probably more like high 14's (c4's) with 8psi my t-bird ran a 10.01 and its at 4200lbs.. With 13psi i mannaged a 8.99 but I'm still running stock injectors stock maf stock tb stock tune stock gears stock convertor AND stock AOD (no shift kit) not to mention a stock intercooler.. I have 42# injectors laying around and some more goodies.. gotta get some stuff done before the tracks open back up.

Here is when i added 5% blower od 10psi
