C6 trans in a fox?

I was talking with a trans guy about putting a c4 in my car and told him i was putting a blown 427w in the car, and he told me that the c4 built to 900hp wouldnt be enought to handle it because the tq would be too high for the trans to hold. I understand the power potential of this combination, and he said i would be better off putting a c6 in the car because they are a beefier trans. My question is, is the c6 swap on a t-5 car the same as a c4 swap, or are there different things needed to be done to make one fit? Thanks for any help you can offer!

The C4 will handle it IF and I mean IF you got a guy that knows what hes doing, a FORD ONLY guy that does dozens and dozens of C4's per month. Not a fix em all trans guy. The C4's can split the case and do all types of bad stuff if you have no clue on building one. As for the C6, BONE STOCK there good for 600-700 lb-ft of torque. As for fitting in the fox, sure they fit, with some help. Trans tunnel clearance is always the main issue. header clearance if running long tubes is your next concern since the C6 is very wide. Get those two obstacles figured out and the rest is academic. BULLETPROOF trans. Alot of the monster trucks use them and look at the power they are making and turning those 7ft tall tires.

Awesome, i was checking out the art carr c4 trans package and that looks great, comes with everything that you need, and they say its rated to 1000hp, and i am not trying to make 1000hp, so i think that one will be suitable enough, wouldnt you think? The guy i was talking to has his transmissions advertised on ebay, he was the one that recommended the c6 to me. He said that he didnt trust the c4. Oh well, i guess there is only one way to find out. I appreciate the help!

I have been company to countless blown up C4's they need to be done right period. They will blow up just as easily behind 500hp.

The C6 is probably stronger, but with the added complexity to install it, i dont think i will putting one in. sbftech is right, as long as a C4 is built right it should be able to handle it. I realize that with the HP level this motor is going to make, something IS going to break sooner or later, and that i understand and need to be prepared for. Any recommendations for someone building me a C4? Performance automatic makes some nice ones too i see, also, Frank Lupo is close to me in Newark, DE, i should ride down and see him about one.

The C6 is by FAR stronger in stock and race built form, noone can deny that. PA does some good C4's

I run a C6 and it fits like a glove no hammering or anything. It bolts right up to the stock crossmember.
