That still didn't answer my question.
I figure it's a trans that was designed to be in a pickup truck. It would prolly involve some trans tunnel mods. (The BFH kind.) You'll need to adapt the OE shifter, or get one from an early model. Maybe you could use a B&M or something, made to work with a non-OD trans. You'll have to swap your flexplate for one with the same imbalance factor as the 5.0. The early 302's use a different one. Measure to see if the trans mount goes in about the same location as the AODE. The trans mount should be the same.
As has been said, a C4 can be made to handle anything that you can throw at it in that chassis. For that matter, the AODE can be made to handle anything you can throw at it. If it's strength that you're after, there are, IMHO, better ways. The C6 will sap a bunch more power than the AODE or C4.
If it's just because you happen to have the C6 and need one for your car, well........
