c6 transmission into a 95 stang

That still didn't answer my question.

I figure it's a trans that was designed to be in a pickup truck. It would prolly involve some trans tunnel mods. (The BFH kind.) You'll need to adapt the OE shifter, or get one from an early model. Maybe you could use a B&M or something, made to work with a non-OD trans. You'll have to swap your flexplate for one with the same imbalance factor as the 5.0. The early 302's use a different one. Measure to see if the trans mount goes in about the same location as the AODE. The trans mount should be the same.

As has been said, a C4 can be made to handle anything that you can throw at it in that chassis. For that matter, the AODE can be made to handle anything you can throw at it. If it's strength that you're after, there are, IMHO, better ways. The C6 will sap a bunch more power than the AODE or C4.

If it's just because you happen to have the C6 and need one for your car, well........

Good luck!

Good luck with that C6, sounds like a lot of work. :)

Other options that won't require a lot of tranny tunnel modification are a built AOD or C4.

Maybe someone who has seen/done a C6 in a 94/95 can chime in - I've never heard of it being done.

Do you want to use an automatic? If you don't like shifting and want an automatic, I understand that. If you want a stronger trans, I understand that, too. If you just want to use it cause you have it.....I don't understand that.

I would say that you will have to be very nice to a stock T5 to make it live behind a 351w. It can be done, though. (No powershifting and such.) If you want to stay with a manual, there are some "somewhat" economical choices. (Somebody chime in. Not my area of expertise.) If you want an auto, you can get a C4 from Jeg's or Summit for about what you can get out of a built C6. An AODE would run a bit more but keep the overdrive functionality of the current tranny.

If we knew the parameters of your decision, we could be a lot more help.

Well

No doubt about it ... C6 is a proven winner for the 1320.

It is old school so you would have to expect to get these kinds of replies.

I am not an auto kinda guy but I do know the C4 can be built pretty rugged if the need is there.

Like the others said ... seems like you could do it easier with something other than the C6.

If you wanna stay with a stick
and
Since you brought up old school

Jerico ........... Richmond ............ Top Loader .............

Stick or Auto ... none of em are cheap :rlaugh:

I knew a guy who went from a worn-out 302 to a fresh 351 and swapped to a C-6 along with it because he thought it was stronger.

In the end, he went slower because of the weight and parasitic HP loss from the truck transmission.

C4's can be had cheaply and reliably and are designed better for an SBF. Hell, you can call summitt and get a TCI prepped C4 for like 850 bucks...
