CA guys...quick question about DMV and VIN locations

Im about to get my car registered here in CA but the main problem is that I don't have 2 locations where they can verify my VIN. My car was repainted before I bought it so there is no door sticker just the VIN plate on the dash. Any suggestions on how I could verify a second VIN location? I believe if I can't verify it a second way, I have to bring my car to CHP and somehow they verify it. Anybody know what they do at CHP? I'd really prefer not to have to go through the hassle of bringing it to CHP. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

what about the body stickers that are on all the fenders and such..I think thats a matching VIN number... Check the under side of your trunk lid, hood, inner fenders..

there is a sticker under the shifter boot,attached to the frame of the center console.

i know it has a date and time on it,but i cant recall if it has the VIN.

I never had that problem registering my green GT here in CA, but I paid someone to bring the Stang to the DMV for me. So I couldn't tell you what was inspected or not. Sorry.
