so a guy is selling a 90mm maf cald for 30's. i call and ask him what brand it is, and hes says its a ford maf off of a lightning, but that its been cal'd for 30lb injectors through the electronics on the maf and it ran good on his fox.

It is my understanding that when tuning with a LMAF, you tune your ecu to adjust for the maf. can you actually tune a ford maf for certain injectors?

i wanted to ask more questions but he didnt seem very knowledgable. i need a 30lb maf but im a little leary

It's possible. You can replace the electronics with a new one that can be calibrated, or you can change the sample tube to adjust for it.

Ford OEM meters are not caled for ANY size injector

Yes ... Aftermarket meter manufactures do it that way

Two very popular meter companies do it differently

ProM/PMAS cal their meters electronically
while
C&L does it mechanically

To make that L meter work ... you're gonna have to have pcm access

One of the MAF companies sells an electronic unit that replaces the stock unit, so that you can calibrate any meter. I haven' seen it in years though, and I can't remember who makes it.
