Calgon take me Away from my T-5 woes

Well looks like I broke stock T-5(aka crap) for the 4th/5th time I forget. What kind of manual trans are you guys running, and I mean running hard without breakage
I've looked at the tko500/600 but seems like a pain to install in the '95.

i'm running kind of a hybrid. It's the old TKO500, a T3550, but with a TKO tailshaft and 26-spline input shaft.

i don't know why its hard to install in our cars. mine fits without issues. i think, though i have a fox bellhousing and clutch fork

Is it holding up well. I called D and D and they said I would need a new bell, clutch fork and a driveshaft spacer, all this was included in their TK0500 kit for $2400. Also I would need to move the stock cross member mounts on the car, did you do these things.

mine was already on the car when i got it so i can't say for certain. i don't have a spacer on mine. the cross member looks stock to me

i don't know exactly what they changed when the did the tko500 so perhaps they changed the mounting points.

I have a Tremec 3550 with a 26 spline input shaft. If you can find one of these used they are pretty good, and last a long time. Not sure what they changed on the TKO-500, but that sounds like a pretty hefty price tag. That's getting close to the price of a T-56. I've broken my input shaft once, and I broke 3rd gear, but other than that, the transmission seems to have held up well.
