My TOB did in fact need to be replaced........my trany is in pieces right now but they said they were replacing the TOB, the pressure plate, and the entire clutch assembly..... :D

I was only shooting for the TOB to be replaced.....is there a reason they would go ahead and replace the pressure plate and clutch assembly as well??

Trust me, I'm not complaining.....they can replace as many things as they want, I was just curious as to how each of these things affected each other. I am pretty much a mental midget when it comes to the mechanical side of cars.

The beige Focus station wagon they gave me in the mean time is really killing me........I think I may be in danger of slowing my self to death in this thing.... :p

I would think most dealers wouldn't want to replace things that they didn't have to so hopefully you've got an honest dealer that found something wrong and is fixing it. Hopefully you're TOB will stay quiet but let us know if the noise returns. I'm curious to know. :)

Yes.....everything is under warranty.

They are REPLACING the TOB not just greasing it.....at least thats what they told me. When I asked about the pressure plate and the clutch they said that when they go inside to replace the TOB for mustang they usually go ahead and replace those as well.

:D
