Here-ye, here-ye...

I am in need of your assistance.
To make a long ass story short...

I am driving a 94 gt vert, and quite literally cannot find springs that will lower my car 2 inches. I need the two inch drop... and the best i've found is 1 & 1/2.
If it would be possible, for those who have a serious 2 inch drop, could you let me know how it looks, handles, who makes them most importantly, and maybe where i could get em?
pics too would be appreciated...
everywhere i look, is 1 & 1/2

My car must be abnormally higher than the average mustang,
cuz my buddy and i hit it with a tape measure...
it's standing from the wheel now... 3 and a 1/2 inches.
no joke...

eibach sportlines if u want the slammed look.

BBK specific rate vert springs lowered mine atleast 1.75-2" They need time to sag down to 2", but even a 1.5" drop will make a HUGE diference. BBK's worked for me

As far as I am aware of,
they do not make sportline eibach springs for the gt verts...
which is why I'm having such a trying time.

OinkAodeOink: okay, i'll check those out, i have been reading up on them, but in honesty haven't heard a thing about them yet, so i was skeptical.
i was also debating on h&r, but i don't know again, if they make vert springs to go down to 2 inches.

I have the eibach sportlines at home waiting to go on my vert, they should work fine.

This is true.
I have the coupe prokit springs on my vert and have no problems. It gave me the advertised 1 1/2" drop. The Sportlines will drop it about 2". But, as mentioned above, it will take a week or so for the springs to settle completely.

If anything the 'vert should be a little lower than the coupes with the same springs due to the extra weight.

Get coil overs and you can make your car as low as you want.

I am soooo tempted to swipe the CCard and get a whole new front suspension. The only thing stopping me is the wrath of the woman when she sees I spent more $ on my car. I would be in debt if it wasn't for her, but my car would be faster.

its funny cause its true....
alot of us are in the same boat.

back on task though. i had the pro kit on my red coupe and it dropped it about an 1.5". you'd be surprised what that much will do. i don't really think you need a 2" drop. anything over that your into crappy handling territory and its neighbor tire rubbing fenderdom.

Hm, I'm just afraid to get that look where you put lowering springs on your car, and it doesn't look any differently than before.
Plus I'm sticking with a 17 inch rim, so with that in mind, i have a smaller wheel base to work with.
granted if i bumped up to an 18, there, right there would be that 1/2 inch i would be making up for...
so i am trying to take that into consideration

a rub won't occur with a wheel any higher than an inch lift above the tire wall...
so as long as you have that inch gap from the slam, you should be okay.

I figured, if i get that 2 inches... it will still leave that 1 & and 1/2 inches for play.
It isn't so much the level of lowering I am interested with, so much with how much room i'll have from the wheel to my fender.
If my car only sat 3 inches, 1 & 1/2 would be fine... but since it's at 3 & 1/2

why is it that eibach sportlines don't say they're for verts too?

dont know why its not listed on their site but i can gurantee you that they would work on your car

I've got Eibach progressives for a FOX vert, & it's working fine w/new shocks & struts there's no rubbing and seldom bottoms out.
Don't know how far it's down from stock---didn't measure.

I have eibach sportlines on my 94 vert. I love them. Of course you sacrifice some ride quality, but who cares, its worth it. Here are some pics with my 18 inch cobra r's.

Also, if you are sticking with stock wheels, be careful if you live in an area with crappy roads. Before I got my 18's I bottomed out everywhere.

1) how do you find your intrax springs for ride comfort? given the fact they are 2 inches...

2) what wax do you use?

thanks! i think the 18" wheels really complete the look. i am getting the front bumper repainted this christmas as my present to myself.

1) the ride can be pretty bumpy, but i think i'm just used to it ... it can scrape on speed bumps and sometimes the front bottoms out ...
2) i wash it with one of those car wash "soap"s with carnauba. i usually have it professionally waxed in june and december.
