Hey guys,
I am running the stock cam with my current setup and wondered if I would be well off to advance/retard the cam, or just leave it lined up? The new setup is as follows:
306 shortblock
9.5:1 compression, DSS kit
stock crank, rods
fresh GT40 irons
stock cam
1.7 RRs
Tmoss lower/stock upper
underdrive pulleys
2.5" exhaust to flowmasters

It seems that I recall someone mentioning adjusting the stock cam 4* one way or the other but I can't remember for sure. Any suggestions?

Contact Tmoss. He used his stock cam and he degreed it in and set it up for the best performance. See What Tom says.

Valve events - (in degrees) when the intake and exhaust valves open and close.

Lobe centers - (in degrees) how many degrees are between the intake and exhaust lobe centerlines

Intake center line/Exhaust center line - (in degrees) where the centerlines of these lobes are in the 360° rotation.

If these terms are not familiar, you should study up on it or get somone who has done this to help you. Many cam sites have instrictions on degreeing a cam.
