I was originally going to go with the F303 cam but cannot afford to put on double springs with all the fixings I was wondering if an E303 cam requires a double spring and if not which single spring can I use, I am also going to go with 1.6 roller rockers

Do you have stock heads?

IMO the stock valve springs are not enough for the stock cam with the stock rockers. Please don't put a larger cam in without upgrading the springs.

I am using a set of Gt40 heads that have been ported and polished, I have been told by a couple of people that work at Jegs that I need a double for that application. are they liers?

If the springs are original ford springs, you'll NEED new ones to do it right. $125 springs now vs valve float, piston hitting the valve possibly having to pull the shortblock for a teardown/rebuild AND repairing the heads? Hmm, you pick :) The right valve spring is VERY VERY important!! I bought a set of double springs from Ed C for use with his cam. They were pretty easy to install, hardest part was screwing the compressor fitting in the spark plug hole. Its a labor intensive job though. You'll need to rent a valve spring tool.
