Cam Degreeing Retard

Those numbers are not enough to make a decison, we need to know all the specs and the lobe profiles would help. Is it a COMP cam?

I personally would think a cam of that duration woud pull into the 7000rpm zone easily, depending on the specs it might just be a bad choice in cam. Maybe the valve springs are weak and are not holding the valves shut, bleeding power away.

I have a custom cam I did with a turbo car .577/.577 218/218 114 makes power through 7800rpm...its all in the combo and valve springs, etc...
