My current combo is:

92 AOD GT
4:10 gears, pulleys, shift kit, transcooler, 1 5/8 mac longtubes, offroad hpipe, flows, ram air/K&n, ported gt40ps, ported explorer intake, ecam, 1.6rr, 76m C&L, 65m tb, 190 fuel pump, 24lb injectors, lakewood 90/10's 50/50's, 3g alternator, continental(taurus)electric fan with dc controller

244rwhp/275tq dyno

thinking about switching to an F cam. Currently running E cam. Heads and intake are ported pretty good and i'm thinking the e cam is holding me back a little. I'd like to go with the tfs stage 1 but a friend has an f cam sitting around i am thinking about putting in. Would the f cam be better for my setup or should i stick with the e cam?

what kinda converter?

I would not use the F-cam unless you bump the compression or plan on using nitrous or a blower/turbo.

I'd actually suggest something along the lines of a B 303 with 1.7 rockers. F is just a bit too much IMO. Besides the wide LSA & lack of overlap will not help anything.

Go Comp XE266HR, screw the letter cams they just don't have the spit pattern needed in a SBF. BTW if your running a high stall conv. (2800+) you could go with a XE272HR. Any more cam would need a CR increase to work good.

stock stall but have a pi 3000 stall coming soon. I just ran my best time yet tonite of [email protected] WITH the STOCK STALL on street tires so i'm gonna keep the ecam for a while see what it can do. What kind of times do you guys think i'll see with a pi 3000 lockup? Will mph go up or just et? Right now i get 2.2 60's all day but the car doesn't really spin at all just kind of bogs. I'm hoping for 13.2-13.3 @ 104-105 with the stall, is that reasonable?

The ecam is not holding you back at peak. There are LOTS of combos out there in the 270-300 rwhp area with the Ecam - some with stock GT40 or GT40P heads (unported).

I'd look elsewhere if you're looking for more umph. And, there are certainly more effective cam choices than the F or the E.
