In Ed's defense when I have had the pleasure of speaking with him he was very helpful ....but when you're a custom cam grinder that just doesn't toss your info in a computer to figure out what you need it's a time consuming process. With all the virtual tire kickers out there I'm surprised these guys have time for anything else. So ease up on thier "customer service" critque until you actually become a customer!!

just food for thought... I'd send my business to jay or ed any day.

I guess I should sell the tfs and get afrs then too huh.
What more can u see that i need from that cam...the specs speak for themselves....i bet u Jays specs would be right on these #'s.

But yeah, I should spend a extra 150$ so i could flaunt his name...thats all thats why u are swingin from his sack.
The specs speak for their selves...i normally dont post tech here in stangnet cause i get all the AFR/FTI/JAY ALLEN/Bigger is better stuff.....when the guys recc the parts have a mustang that runs 13s.
Sorry to vent...that was a rediculous reply...what do u think Jays cam would make 20-30hp more...haha

Your funny! Yeah I RAN 13's on very "Street" set up that would pass emmissions anyday & didn't realize until pulled the heads back off that I had a piston missing a big old chunk. So Let's see ....13.24's @ 105 on 7 cylinders ain't that bad last i checked
Edelbrocks steeda #19 cam (yeah a popular cam for you Sn 95 guys) gears exhaust intake blah blah blah it should have been a 12 sec car if I had all 8 holes.

What you fail to realize is you don't NEED a 114 lsa for that thing to pull the vacumme you need to get the car to run right, b/c a 331 will pull more vacumme than a 302 with a comparable cam... and yes I realize that blower car's don't NEED as much cam... I'm FAR from a noob.

I'm not on any bandwagon I'm just stating facts. I'm sorry that you are so Jaded to see the forrest for the tree's, your reply's are the ones that are rediculous.

As far as what I think Jay's cam would do... let's say he can get you in average power what most stanger make in peak power.

Also did you pay Ed a red cent? NOPE! I bet he didn't see a dime ...fill out his spec sheet send him a down payment, or payment in full & see how much attention you get.

WTF would someone waste thier time with a window shopper when they have real customers with cash in hand in the store? Get Real

First off Eades....chill man, its not that deep.

The fact is that there are not too many people on the net who would know what to change to make that cam perform better. And if they do recommend something....how do u know if its a good thing or bad thing?

This site is majority afr/fti/eddy stuff...there arent that many(if any at all) jay cammed cars here. Mine will be as i am working out the bugs.

The reason i said Jay's cam would be worth it is the customer service Jay will give you. I had the same beginning experience with Ed as you...so i know completely how u feel about him. It was similar to when i posted on hardcore50 a question about the lightweight romacs and Ed responded...but didnt answer just because i said i was buying it off ebay. So if i didnt mention ebay...he would have answered. And all that just cause he is a dealer of the romacs which i didnt know. It just seems as if sometimes Ed can be a little tough unless u show some cash first. Well IMO, im buying from you. I have to see what im buying before i give you money. If thats not good enough than i will move on just like you and the couple others did on here.

Now, since i personally cant help you, i will say to go to hardcore50 and post the same question to see what those guys say. They are more of the racer/professional type over there rather than the average joe here. Heck, even email Jay the specs and see what he says.

Good luck man.

I would go with the cam motion you have in mind. It seems like a good choice and match. I am running a 114 lsa cam as well. I agree its the lowest I would go on a blown street car.

please dont comment in a cam tech thread if you think .050 lift and peak lift is all that delineates a cam

not everyone needs a mismatched combo like yours

yes i am being an A hole... sorry i guess

this same geos for the rest of you too, especially those who do not have sn95 computers

and too the fox guy that thinks he is gonna run mid 11s with his 302/6..... how are you gonna do that? trap like 120+ because your driving sucks if you are running 13.24 at at 105. you better find some traction and learn how to lauinch and drive mister internet racer

Well i'm not going to beat my head against a wall, you wanted input/feedback & I gave it to you. You didn't like it so you decided to blow up.

If you think that cam is your best option why ask for other ones you all ready have your mind made up apparently....

I'll just wish you the best of luck & leave it at that....

It's ignorant douch bags like you that i can't stand!!

I was cuttin 1.94 60s on 225/60/15 street tires & a stock suspension. Traction is an issue with said tires & suspension .... hell a stock motored 5.0 has traction problems with the stock suspension & tire size.

I'm not here to bust on people but alot of you guys have a very POOR attitude.

Not at all, maybe this was a poor assumption on my behalf ... but I assumed that you would want to get the most power possible from your combo.

You can make "REAL POWA" with an off the shelf cam or any other cam grinders cam's just pick your parts & make sure they match & you'll make great power.

AS I'm sure your aware custom cams just work better if you want to make the best of your combo.

Like I said best of luck.

WTF is up in this place This is not TALK 5.0 FORUM where this kind of bashing takes place all the time... We used to have a good 94-95 forum.

Stangnet is getting worst everyday.

Chris,

I'll be the first to say that Ed and Jay's junk will, 99% of the time, be the fastest junk out there. This again is just my opinion.

Ed's and Jay's stuff will give you more low-end power than OTS cams because they are tailored to your application. Their cams will typically have MORE vacuum at idle with LESS overlap (i.e. more emission friendly). These, for the most part, are facts.

It takes a lot to offend me, and you haven't yet (and probably won't), but to some with thinner skin, you are making it seem as if anyone who purchases a cam from Ed or Jay is an idiot.

I don't understand why you're so pissed off. It's only the internet.

Joe
