Alright well it's time to come out of the closet. I don't know the last thing about cams. I know a few tricks with retarding and advancing them a degree or two. I know that with turbos you don't want alot of valve overlap if any at all. And I know what overlap is and what it's there for... But I can't look at a cam spec sheet and make sense of any of those numbers and what they translate to.
So can anybody help me out and drop some knowlege on me? Or point me to a website that lays it all out for a fool? I have a million questions about it all, do the charts with all the #'s you see actually tell you everythng you need to know? or does some stuff need to be figured out? like valve overlap? And roller rockers, I think that a 1.6 rocker means say if a pushrod pushes one end 1 inch up, the other end will go 1.6 inches down right? I always assumed this was true, but never found out for sure.
And once I know what all those numbers mean...
I was also wondering if anybody knows the numbers on a stock 86, and stock 88 cam.... Yeah I'm the budget racer with dillusions of grandure
