Cam install question?

Aight im putting and E303 cam in my car. I talked to the summit tech guy on the phone and he said that i need to get a valve spring upgrade kit. I was wondering if this is true, because the lift (498) isnt close to the max lift(512) thats the stock valves can handle without having ot make clearence. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The stock springs are only good for .500 lift, not .512. I would get different springs for many reasons, some of them being more obvious than others.

1) The stockers are tired.
2) The stock springs are probably close to having "just enough" seat pressure to be able to use.
3) The valves are going to float in the higher RPM with the E-cam and the stock valve springs, due to reason(s) 1, 2, and 4.
4) The ramp rates of the E-cam are steeper (quicker) than stock and will probably cause valve float.

It's cheap insurance for 80 bucks or however much they cost.

just something to know when u install the e cam u will get a idle surge so time it correctly and set the idle air control valve with the allen wrench to get the idle just right.or if not u will need a new comp.and harness that pro-m makes for close to 400.00 bucks.
