im new to this forum im getting frustrated with my other forum i can never seem to get a straight answer from anybody lol but anyway..... my comp custom grind cams just got in these are the specs Duration 226/230 Lift 545 and i had to buy springs originally i wasnt planning on springs but they are necessary with these cams how hard is it to install springs and what all is involved?

lol the valvespring install is the hardest part if you're leaving the heads on your car. The problem is you are working in a very small space. You have to use a valvespring compressor to compress the springs and pull the little keepers out. they are two very small half circle pieces of medal with rivets on the inside that go around the tip of the valves. YOu have to put the new spring on and compress it and put those keepers back in. The keepers keep the valvesprings from coming off the valves. It's just hard because you're working in a small space. Once you get the hang of it it's easy. I had the most troubles with the ones thats were nearest to the firewall because of the angle you had to put them in and you didn't have much room. It's just a really tedious job and you have to take your time.

By the way.. if you're ever needing a mustang shop in TN.. check out DynoSpeed Racing over in Memphis.. they're awesome.
