alright, don't get pissy at me...but I do have a cam question. I've done my homework and I know what I want and what I need to get it done. I'm probably going to place an order for some VT Stage 2 cams within a week unless my mechanic does it for me. I've been doing searches but I still can't really find the answer that I'm looking for. I'm getting new cams simply cuz headers and cams are the last things on my list, and I think I'll wait for headers in the summer (yes I debated waiting and doing them at the same time). Still, I wanna know if the sound of my engine is going to change dramatically with the new cams. I wasn't pleased with the addition of my prochamber (w/ cats), but that's just me. I'm trying to remedy that with the performance and sound of new cams. Everyone says the lobe on the VT II's is great, but am I going to be dissapointed? Somebody please chime in and give me a confidence booster or my doubt might get the best of me.

....As a side note....I'm now a big supporter of the 'Demolet' CAI. John Demolet is a great guy and he'll give you some great deals if you talk with him.

the only real difference in the cams between stg 1 and 2 is that stg 2 are lopier and get 10hp more at peak. The stg 1 dont sacrifice any low end power for up top power like the stg 2 do but if you have gears dont even worry about. But you wont be dissapointed with them

i agree...if ur thinking about doing headers at any time, it would be wise to do them with ur cams, so u only have to get a tune once

You guys have convinced me....i'll probably get some headers on order with the cams/springs. I gotta go shorty though becuz i'm too low to the ground for long tubes. I guess I'm willing to sacrifice a little power for the curve handling and looks

OK....I've been doing some more searches and I have one last question regarding the comments that everyone has made. It seems like the concensus is to get headers done with/before cams. Still, I have my car lowered a lot, and I like the ride height...I love it. My prochamber hits on just about any small speed bump, but it doesn't have any real damage. So...if I get headers, i'm still going to stay shorty (BBK Tuned Shorties) 'cuz I know the long tubes would drag with a 2 1/2" drop. Is the Header still worth it with a shorty. Or should I switch my cams to the VT Stage 1. Opinions?

anything over the stock manifold would be better IMHO

yea, i think the best shorty headers to get are the FRPPs. the stock manifolds are ok, theyre better than a lot of other stock manifolds, but they can be better and i wou,ld suggest them over stock when getting cammed

well it all depends on how loppy you want your car to sound at idle cause the VT stg 1 and 2 the only difference is 10HP at the high RPM's over the stg 1's

Do stage 1's still give you that muscle car sound at idle? The reason I'm doing cams is for the performance and that awesome sound at idle. Will I be disapointed with the idle if I were to do stage 1's?
