Hello all,

I am doing an HCI swap from my old combo so I am a little rusty on some of the details of certain things...I installed my cam, stuck on the thrust plate and could not find a torque spec anywhere in my manual...so I did a quick online search and somewhere came up with a number of 12-15 ft/lbs...I can't seem to relocate where I saw this at because when I looked up a torque spec for the cam bolt, there was another list saying 9-12 ft/lbs., and this is what everyone else is saying. So I torqued them to what I thought was a good in-between number of 14 ft/lbs. with blut loctite. Checked my cam endplay and it was good, So I torqued the cam bolt to 45 ft/lbs with red loctite. So now I am concerned that the bolts for the cam thrust plate could potentially break off and hose my engine. Is it possible for this to happen or will I be ok?

I have yet to see a set of the thrust plate bolts broken off from normal engine wear... You should be fine in my opinion

It's something like 144 inch pounds, or 9-12 foot pounds sound about right. Good call on the locktite.
