I have a roller cam F303 and was working on a friends Stang this weekend and liked the cam sound he has in his , Of course he doesn't know anything about the Engine that is in his car. What would be a good upgrade for my Stang?
I would go with the comps "thumper" series, call them and talk to a tech and tell them your combo. Also know that the exhaust system has a big effect on sound too, you may want to go with long tubes and not knowing what kind of flowmasters you have, you may look into the super 44 series (single chamber) and your X-pipe is great but H-pipes sounds better at idle (this mis my opinion). And not knowing what your friend has, he may have a carbed set-up and sometimes when a car isnt tuned perfect, it makes the cam sound bigger.
I have 44's in mine, He has a 10 over bore stock 302, long tube headers with a cobra EFI Intake set up and some cam work ... I like the short headers (easier to take off when I have to work on it)... I will have to call them and talk to a Tech... Trying to find a good cam to work with the Supercharger set up I have, I here that the F303 is good for that, but would like a little more Thump in the lower end.. I do not Drag the car anymore, just a street machine now...
