Now i know the alphabet cams are a little out dated but i got a new B cam givin to me, and i would like to know about PTV clearance and valve springs.
i have pretty much a stock motor other than a cold air intake, 65mm throttle body and spacer, gt 40 upper and lower intakes, underdrive pullies, shorty headers, 2 1/2inch x piped with flowmasters and 373 gears, t5 tranny and steeda tri-axe shifter. The heads are stock completely, the car is driven in the summer and at the track a few passes a season. if there is any insights on the installation and PTV clearance and valve springs it would greatly appreciated. i dont want to damage the motor, and want to pay once and do it right the first time.

B-cam is a pretty weak cam. Stock valve springs will be fine

How many miles on the motor? Factory springs aren't great when new.

You should do the springs also. I think trickflow makes a kit with everything you need.

Don't bother putting the cam in with your stock heads, not going to gain anything and will just cost money. Wait until you swap them out.

Letter cams are still good ot use. True there is better stuff out there.

Friend of mine was trapping 106MPH with a B came, Cobra intake and GT-40P's.

One thing about the B cam, it makes it's power up top, so be prepared to rev the crap out of the car

I agree, save your money up and wait till you can afford a better set of heads. It may cause you more grief right now than it's worth.
