Camaro beater?

I don't post here much, but I get a wealth of information from reading these boards, so I figured you guys would have some Knowledge on this matter. My buddy has a 97 Z-28 6 speed, with a few bolt-ons (Chip, full exhaust, intake) and I was wonderin what i would need to show him my nice shiny tail lights. I am lookin at a stroker motor from Central Coast Mustang, because the loan on the car will be paid off this month. From what i hear those newer camaros are quick. Will that be enough?

correction, it's a 98 and it's an LS1

heads, cam, intake, and gears should let you beat him fairly easily. If it was the LT1.. I kept up with a 97 WS6 when I just had exhaust done to my car

I'll let you know the outcome when I race my friend in his 02? Z28 with 3.73, shift kit, and i do believe a stall converter... Its a quick little car

u could always just bolt up a n2o kit. that'll beat him.
