Camcorder Help!!

Ok i have this jvc minidv camcorder and i have the s-video and yellow rca audio cable hooked from my cam to the computer but i dont know how to get my video to the computer?? im a newbie at this..lol i dont have the dv cable.... im sure i need a software to install but i figured my computer would atleast recognize it like it does my digital camera?? so if its just the software i need...whats a great free one i can download? and links if possible!

not free, but you need a video capture card...
PVR PLUS, is a really good program but i dont think your gonna find it for free!

would i still need a video capture card if i had the dv cable? thanks i will look into one of those!

You need the usb cable that comes with the camera and you need the software it came with also..

ok im lost iono which one to get! lol anyone got a link to a good cheap one? i just dont wanna get ripped off on ebay and get something i dont need

i have that but it only works for pics that are taken on the camcorder...

I got a cd with the camcorder and it worked fine.I lost the usb cable though so im effed.
