So basically I will be getting springs and stage two blower cams. One last question. Can i still get the stage II blower cams and not rev it past stock redline, and will i still gain power. Im only asking this because I have seen people with stock bottom ends have blower cams and they don't rev it past redline but they still gain a lot of power because they are not forged.. Thank you for all the insight everyone.

You may not get the full effect from the cams but I bet it would still be pretty mean. And you will be saving your engine. My redline is at 6500 which gives you a couple more seconds to shift and probably isnt too bad though. Good luck and post your results if you dont pass.

Maybe you should re-read mine.

I never spoke about doing the install. I just said the cost of the components would be about the same as putting the cams in. Absolutely the install if done at a shop, will be expensive. I am sure he knows that, and I never implied otherwise.

I never said you couldn't make more boost with another cam at low RPM. I said using it as a positive selling point is ridiculous. Seriously, where is the performance benefit? Is it right for a centrifugal supercharger setup? In a turbo sure, less overlap is actually needed because it affects the efficiency of the turbo. TropicMustang is not running a turbo.

You said blower cams will help you make boost at lower rpm.......as opposed to what? Preventing making boost? TropicMustang is running a Vortech Is making boost at low rpm what he needs? With his setup, what will it cost him in his actual power band? With the blower cam using less overlap to make boost down low, will it cost him more power in his actual powerband than it is worth? When do you actually want to be at low RPM when you are in a situation to actually use the optimum powerband his engine supports? My guess is very little. If you think he needs help down low, don't you think gears would be beneficial? A set of gears after all, won't contribute to blowing up his motor.

My original post wasn't directed at you in or anyone in particular, but TropicMustang did ask these questions, and I am happy enough to help. Take a look at how many people view these threads. The information was for anyone who is looking at the threads and trying to gain some knowledge. Personally, I hear too many stories of people getting worked over because of the way someone puts a "positive spin" on a product. Especially a product that "makes more boost".

I am not trying to start a pissing match. I think you are missing the point of the message I was trying to convey. My message was this - going forged prior to anymore buildup compared to what TropicMustang already has done, is a better idea. As much power as he is already making, would you try to add more power before going fored? I am suggesting patience and that is just my opinion. I am just trying to look out for someone. What if he installed the cams and then through a rod? How much would that cost? How likely is that scenario? If he threw a rod in an upward direction it could take out his head and the cam he just put in. Seriously, thats like saying you don't buy insurance because nothing is wrong right now. How does that benefit TropicMustang or anyone else?
